BOATS AND EQUIPMENT
The Desert Sports Diving club has three boats that are available at any given time to members of the club as long as the member or a person from his party is qualified as a
qualified (diving related) boat handler. If a member wishes to organise a dive and have/are a certified boat handler, they must contact the Diving Officer - Chris Head.
The Equipment Officer is Bob Thompson and he's always at the club by about 8.00pm on a Monday night when you can contact him for any advice, Nitrox blending etc..
Air and Nitrox and other stuff.
Air / Nitrox is free for all club members - and no one else!
Once you have sorted out your O2 fill leave your empty cylinder on the right hand side of the compressor room porch, and when they are filled they will end up on the left hand side ready for your collection! Compressor operates from 7pm through to 10pm on Monday nights.
A compressor rota is set up so that those of you who do not know how to work a compressor can learn and those of you who know how to operate it can show those who can't! Then everyone can take turns and help fill the tanks every week rather than leaving it to just one or two to do.
If you are not a qualified Nitrox blender please speak nicely to someone that is and I'm sure they will help you get your cylinder filled or speak to the training officer an get yourself on a nitrox blending course!
Other gases are available but you have to be qualified and also checked out by our members before we can consider you using them.
Any queries see Bob at the club on Monday evenings.
Compressor Operation Rota
If it is your turn please be at the club by 7.00pm on Mondays. If you cannot attend, only for a very good reason, please arrange to swap with the next person on the list well in advance
and let Bob know on Monday evenings.
